Our Approach

Better tools, real experts, and a model owners can trust.

We built this site for the owner who wants real answers, not a sales pitch. The tools are free. The numbers are honest. The advisor connection only happens if you want it.

Why this site exists

Selling a business is the largest financial event in most owners' lives, and most owners walk into it underprepared. The data backs this up:

Our goal is straightforward: give owners better information, earlier, so the eventual transition is a choice instead of a crisis. Whether that transition is next year or twenty years from now, the planning work is largely the same.

What we do

Free planning tools

Four tools, all free, all anonymous if you want them to be. The valuation calculator uses private middle-market transaction multiples, refreshed quarterly. The three scorecards (Business Attractiveness, Business Readiness, and Personal Readiness) are based on assessment methodology published by the Exit Planning Institute and used by Certified Exit Planning Advisors across the country.

You can take any of them without giving us an email. We only ask for your contact information if you want the detailed report and follow-up.

An advisor network

We do not provide financial, tax, legal, or transactional advice. What we do is connect owners with vetted advisors in our network when there is a real fit. Every advisor in the network is independently licensed and operates under their own firm. We curate for experience with privately held businesses in the $1M to $250M enterprise value range.

Education and content

Articles, frameworks, and downloadable guides on the topics owners care about: valuation drivers, deal structures, after-tax proceeds, transition timelines, and the differences between strategic buyers, financial buyers, ESOPs, and family transitions.

What we are not

Principles we operate by

1

Honest defaults over optimistic ones

Our estimates are conservative. We would rather an owner be pleasantly surprised by an offer than disappointed by reality. Bankers and buyers respect numbers they can defend.

2

Opt in, not opt out

You decide if and when to be connected with an advisor. We do not put you on a list or pass your information without your request.

3

Confidential by default

No public listings. No broker network exposure. Your information stays private while you are still running the business.

4

Transparent compensation

We may receive a referral fee or marketing fee from advisors when introductions become engagements. That fee never changes the price or terms you are offered. See our disclosures below.

How leads actually flow

To remove the mystery, here is the full sequence:

  1. You arrive at the site (organic search, paid traffic, or a referral) and use one of the free tools. No email required.
  2. If you want the detailed report, you provide your email. The score, summary, and report are emailed to you immediately.
  3. Over the following weeks you may receive a short series of follow-up emails with related content (other tools, frameworks, owner guides). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  4. If your tool inputs and follow-up engagement suggest a real fit, we may introduce you to one advisor in our network for a no-charge initial conversation. You can also request an introduction directly at any time.
  5. Whether you engage that advisor (or any advisor) is entirely your decision. We do not take a percentage of transaction value.
Disclosure. When an introduction leads to an engagement, the advisor may pay us a marketing or referral fee. That fee is paid by the advisor, not by you, and does not change the price or terms the advisor offers. It also does not influence which advisor you are introduced to: matching is based on your industry, size, and circumstances.

Who is behind this

This site is operated by Next Chapter Wealth, an independent company focused on owner education and advisor matching. The advisors in the network are independent professionals who carry their own licenses, registrations, and credentials, including CFP, CPA, CEPA, and various securities and insurance licenses where applicable. None of these advisors are employees of Next Chapter Wealth.

If you would like to know more about a specific advisor before an introduction, just ask. Their bios, credentials, firm, and any relevant disclosures will be shared with you in advance.
